MacGregor Recruitment have a great opportunity for an experienced Designer to join a manufacturer and installer of windows, doors, curtain wall & cladding systems.

 

Our client is a successful and expanding business with an impressive pipeline of commercial project opportunities in development and have created a new opportunity for an experienced Designer to join the team and support businesses growth.

 

Designer responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Operations Director you will be responsible for producing detailed curtain wall / façade and aluminium & pvcu window designs that meet specific project and building regulation requirements
  • You’ll lead the design delivery for a wide range of commercial projects such as high-rise and mid-rise developments, schools, offices and redevelopment projects
  • Coordinate effectively with architects, contractors, third parties and internal stakeholders
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time delivery
  • Production of material fabrication drawings /schedules for ordering / fabrication
  • Establish procurement strategies, supplier pre-qualification, and technical bid evaluations
  • Prepare client-facing design deliverables and contribute to tender proposals and technical submissions
  • Staying up to date with legislation and industry developments.

Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive experience with commercial façade / curtain walls & window design is essential
  • An in-depth knowledge of aluminum curtain wall systems, PVCu & aluminium windows and cladding is highly desirable
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office and ideally LogiKal & TechDesign
  • Experience working with and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams that include suppliers, architects, installers and contractors
  • Knowledge of UK building regulations, fire safety, and standards related to facades, including performance testing where applicable.

 

Package:

  • Anticipated salary in the region of £60k DOE
  • 28 days annual leave inclusive of statutory, increasing with service
  • Working hours are 08.00-17.00 Mon-Fri (with some flexibility on the working pattern considered)
