Distribution Manager

MacGregor Recruitment have a great opportunity for an experienced Transport Manager to join our client based in the Birmingham area as their Distribution Manager.

Our client is an established manufacturer and supplier of windows and doors across the UK that prides itself with high quality products and an exceptional customer service. Managing a team of 9 and a fleet of 7 vehicles, we are looking for an experienced Distribution Manager to lead the transport / distribution operation and ensure that the customers receive their products on time and in full.

Distribution Manager role:

• Reporting to the Operations Manager and working closely with the warehouse teams you will ensure the safe, compliant and efficient running of the distribution operation
• Route and schedule planning optimisation, using business micros ERP platform
• Manage the team performance, training, and development across 2 shifts
• Ensure all compliance, including WTD / tachograph regulations
• Oversee vehicle maintenance planning and fleet compliance
• Customer communication and maintaining strong customer relationships

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience as Transport Manager or Distribution Manager, including route planning for multiple vehicles
• Specific experience within the window & door sector is an advantage
• Excellent knowledge of DVSA requirements
• Knowledge of transport management systems and route planning software.
• Strong leadership, people and communication skills – with the ability to build positive relationships with drivers, customers, and colleagues.
• Commercial awareness and a focus on operational efficiency.

Package:

Salary band of £35-39k depending on experience and company pension scheme. 25 days holiday plus 8 statutory holidays. The standard working hours are 07.30-15.30 Monday-Friday
