Business Development Manager

MacGregor Recruitment delighted to be recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join our client to build strong customer relationships and to identify and bring on board new customers across the Southern / South Coast region.

Our client is an established and successful multi-site supplier of windows, doors, bi-folds and lanterns to trade. Reporting to the Managing Director this is a newly created role with a focus to develop sales and increase the customer base, and also to support and develop the sales skills of the branch managers across the region.

Business Development Manager role:

• Reporting to the Managing Director you will support the growth of the business by delivering profitable sales and market share growth for the region
• This will be achieved by building strong commercial relationships with existing trade customers across the region, maximising further sales opportunities where possible
• A hands-on sales role you will also identify potential customers, build relationships and maximise sales opportunities – quoting and negotiating supply terms
• You will also work closely and collaboratively with the branch managers, helping to develop their sales capability by demonstrating high quality prospecting and joint sales meetings
• Keep up to date with local competitor activity and changes within the region & sector

Skills & Experience:

• A strong track record of field sales success within the trade window sector is essential
• Specific experience of developing sales for distribution / trade branch sector is highly advantageous 
• Strong people and communication skills – excellent rapport and relationship building skills
• Commerciality, negotiation skills and the ability to present to a wide range of customers
• An ability to work under own initiative and to deliver targets and deadlines A willingness & ability to collaborate with the wider team and to help train others
• A full driving license is essential and a willingness to travel across the Southern region regularly
