Maintenance Engineer

MacGregor recruitment have a great opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join an established manufacturer based in Stoke that fabricates a wide range of windows and doors.

Reporting to the Technical Manager you will provide reactive and planned maintenance support to minimise production interruptions for the afternoon shift, working 12.00 – 20.30 Monday to Thursdays and 09.00-17.30 Fridays.

Maintenance Engineer role:

• Carry out planned maintenance of plant and equipment and general day to day maintenance activities.
• Swiftly react to and resolve breakdowns as they occur
• Provide excellent customer service to the production department and external customer requests
• Ensure adequate parts/supplies are available for maintenance activities.
• Occasional installation and commissioning of plant and equipment.
• Reading of electrical, mechanical and fluid drawings.
• Maintain a high standard of 5S and ensure working practices and machinery comply with all H&S procedures
• Consistently identify opportunities for improvement within the department and record all improvements.

Skills & Experience:

• Mechanical/electrical qualifications to HNC or equivalent. (City and Guilds considered if good level of multiskilling is displayed)
• Hands on experience of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, and knowledge of CNC machines
• Specific experience gained with the window fabrication / fenestration sector is highly advantageous, however similar manufacturing environments will be considered.
• The successful candidate will also be self motivated and able to work within a team, able to prioritise and meet critical deadlines, and flexible in approach
• Excellent attention to detail skills, with a problem solving aptitude and good people and communication skills

The role is offered with a salary of £45k
