Buyer / Purchasing Controller
MacGregor Recruitment are specialist recruiters for the UK fenestration and window & door trade branch sector. We are recruiting for a Buyer / Purchasing Controller on behalf of our client, a manufacturer and supplier of windows and doors to trade based in the Alfreton / Mansfield area. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager and as part of a small team you will help ensure that the business has the right production materials and components at the right time and at the right cost.
Buyer / Purchasing Controller role:
- Manage stock requirements and place orders for materials as required with suppliers
- Liaise with suppliers on ETA’s and back orders
- Support with existing supplier negotiations and the sourcing new suppliers to achieve cost savings
- Assist in regular stock checks and maintain accurate inventory records
- Assist in the implementation of efficient business processes to optimise stock control
Skills and Experience:
- Previous buying / purchasing experience is essential
- Specific experience within the window and door sector is highly advantageous
- Good communication skills and the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships
- The successful candidate will be proactive, able to problem solve and have excellent organisational and attention to detail skills
- IT skills - proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
The Package:
The role is offered as a full time permanent position working 08.00-16.30 Monday to Friday (40 hour week). Salary to £35k DOE
