MacGregor Recruitment have a great opportunity for a Process Engineer to join our client based in Essex, to identify opportunities to develop and implement manufacturing process solutions, and to support new product introductions.

 

You will play a key role in developing and optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring seamless product launches, and maintaining accurate BOMs to support production efficiency and quality.

 

This is a great opportunity for a Process Engineer with strong experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) and Bill of Materials (BOM) control to join the team and play a key role with an established and expanding manufacturer of aluminium and pvcu windows and doors.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • The development of initiatives to refine efficiency within the manufacturing facilities, identifying, justifying, and implementing manufacturing improvements
  • Review & analyse production processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities
  • Build and implement effective lean manufacturing processes that delivers production process capability on time, maximising productivity and minimising costs.
  • Identification and justification of capital tooling and equipment requirements
  • Project management of specific projects
  • Financial management of projects, ensuring costs are controlled and within budget
  • Lead and support New Product Introduction projects by collaborating with technical, manufacturing, and quality teams to develop efficient and scalable production processes.
  • Develop, document, and implement process workflows, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new and existing products.
  • Manage and maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) data in the ERP system
  • Coordinate cross-functional communication between Technical, procurement, manufacturing, and quality teams during product development and launch phases.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Substantial experience in Engineering and Manufacturing, including knowledge of tools and techniques for refining product and production processes.
  • Experience of process engineering with a focus on New Product Introduction and knowledge of Bill of Materials management & control within ERP systems
  • Specific experience within the window fabrication sector is highly advantageous - but not essential
  • A thorough understanding of lean manufacturing principles, ie Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing is also highly desirable
  • An ability to operate at all levels, with strong communication and people skills
  • Proven ability to read, understand and create engineering drawings, and excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, process simulation tools, and MS Office Suite is desirable
  • Full current driving licence and to be prepared to occasionally travel to other sites

 

Package

The role is offered as a full time permanent position with a salary of 38-40k DOE. Working hours are 07.30-16.00 Monday to Friday
